Fanlistings that I would kill for:
...and this is me being restrained. Yeah, I love stuff lots.
Alan Rickman
The voice, the eyes, the talent, the voice, the roles, the voice. You know what I mean? Thought so.
Hugh Laurie
I grew up loving Black Adder and consequently with an enormous adoration for Hugh Laurie. He never fails to make me squeal with delight. Also, his House is beyond brilliant. He is my number one old man crush.
Daniel Brühl
Immensely talented German actor who I promptly fell in love with last year. He has this sincerity about him that I cannot help but find bewitching. He pretty much owns my soul.
Ralph Fiennes
There is something I find so captivating about Mr Fiennes, he enthralls me entirely. He is brilliant either as villian or protagonist and is just so wonderfully intense. I've admired him for a very long time I guess he's just stuck up there in my list of awesomeness no matter how much I've changed.
Jason Isaacs
I adore a good villain - and Jason is far more than a good villain. He is the best. He takes evil and makes it appealing in a way that I don't think anyone else ever has. Plus, he's gorgeous.
Elijah Wood
I have so much respect for this man, it's purely my observation, but he seems to have more awareness than any other actor his age. Plus he is vastly talented, has pretty blue eyes, loves New Zealand and has brilliant taste in music.
Kate Winslet
I was a huge Titanic fan. Heavenly Creatures was my favourite film growing up. It was replaced by Eternal Sunshine. She's beautiful. She's talented. She's intelligent. She has a conscience. She's my hero.
Honourable mention: Emma Thompson, Natalie Portman, Kirsten Dunst and Maggie Smith.
Dracula by Bram Stoker
My favourite book of all time. I've read it SO many times and lost two copies, one to tea spillage and another to leaving it in the library (naturally), but it's a must for my bookshelf at all times. I don't have the elequence to do either this book or my love for it justice - so I wont even try. I simply love the characters (except for Mina who is annoying), story, language, depth, overtones, undertones, and everything else.
Honourable mention: The Hobbit (Tolkien), The Phantom of the Opera (Gaston Leroux), Peter Pan (JM Barrie), Sense and Sensibility (Jane Austen) and a million more.
Harry Potter: Professor McGonnagall
My favourite character in the HP series changes weekly - but most constantly McGonnagall is my favourite. I can't help but adore her, she is brilliantly written and though I adore all of the teachers in a very general sense, she seems to stand out considerably - I find comfort in her characer I guess.
Sense and Sensibility: Colonel Brandon
Ah Brandon, what can I say? I think this fictional gentleman literally owns a piece of my heart. I melt a little when I think of him. I find it impossible to be elegant about my love of this character, so I'm not even going to attempt it.
Honourable mention: Severus Snape, Arthur Weasley, Ronald Weasley, Hermione Granger, Lyra Belacqua, Count Olaf and Abraham van Helsing.
Michel Gondry
What can I say? I love him. He is my design-hero. The man does with people what I struggle to do with paint. His vision and talent are unsurpassed, he constantly brings the extraordinary to the real world. I can't help but feel like he understands some part of me that I can't quite express myself yet (being that I don't have his fluency with the odd).
HORRAY!
Honourable mention: Jane Campion <3
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
This is my favourite movie. It has everything: Kate Winslett, Elijah Wood, Jim Carey, Mark Ruffalo, Kirsten Dunst, the best colour palette ever, Michel Gondry's wonderful way of telling stories, Charlie Kaufman's brilliance and "special effects" that make the hair on the back of my neck stand up with admiration.
Honourable mention: Heavenly Creatures, Garden State, Joyeux Noel, The Edukators, Pan's Labyrinth, Paris, Je T'aime, Love Actually and Hot Fuzz.
Calexico
My favourite band ever. I love these guys. I love the trumpets, I love the soundscapes, I love the energy, I love the sexy drummer, I love the variation and the dedication and the beauty and the consideration *continues for all eternity*.
Incubus
A relic from my high school music tastes (I was so hardc0re!!!11!). These guys are consistently growing and changing in a way that I can grow with them. I never tire of them because there is always something different wiating for me in the next song. Brandon's lungs, they have me in a constant state of awe.
Iron & Wine
I've had a long standing, one sided love affair with Mr Sam Beam. He has this way of making everythig look different. The beauty of his voice is only surpassed by the sublety of his songwriting.
